Charles Bellonzi & Robert Viger - Structures Percussions

Structures Percussions

Recorded in France, 1972. Very repetitive percussion "structures," ranging from jazz, bossa, avant, and march. Not much information (in English at least) on this guy. Here is a biography and discography of Bellonzi in French. I must say that this is one of my favorite library covers ever.

Hi, I’ve stg to say about the great drummer Charles Bellonzi. He still lives in France (50 km south from Poitiers). My sister works as a teacher near his home and she has met him 2 or 3 times (Bellonzi plays sometimes with the children of the local school). For his last (jazz) album in 99 he has chosen 2 remarkable players, saxophonist Nicolas Scheid and guitarist Christophe Limousin (my music teachers for 4 years !), whom made me know about him. What a metronome !
I’m glad to learn he made an album of library music before, I shall look for this LP now…;)
ciao bye

Hello diggers, library fans & deep music lovers.
I’ve said it, it’s done. I’ve met Charles Bellonzi and we have namely talked about his 2 MPI recordings.
Friday, May 11th at 8 PM (French time GMT+2) I co-present a special radio bdcst that you can hear via this weblink :
http://www.votreradiosurlenet.eu/player/index.php?radio=pulsar

Obviously we talk in french… Anyway check the tracks we will launch if by chance you don’t know them (not only from MPI).
A website of my own (with the interview and the bdcst) may follow if I’ve enough time this summer… I’ve also met Bernard Lubat (Telemusic 3, 10, 27, 51) recently you know.
(French) Chris for Slam.
