Ragas From South India
Posted on January 11, 2006 by hcrink

Hey, that white girl looks familiar…
It's Dorothy Moskowitz! Yup, apparently she spent some time in India getting down & jamming with the locals. She's playing Tamboura on this, and I think it's pre USA. It is a nice record of indian music. One side Vocal, one side not. If you are looking for "psych moves", look elsewhere.

ahhh… could have sworn the booklet said this was recorded in India. Blame Mose Asch.

Actually…Dorothy Moskowitz was living in L.A. at the time with Joseph Byrd, and they were involved with Indian musicians with UCLA connections that made this recording possible.
