David Pritchard: Nocturnal Earthworm Stew
Posted on February 26, 2006 by hcrink
I'd never heard of David Pritchard when I picked up this mid-70's lp on Island. It just looked interesting, so I gave it a try - WOW! Super duper great record! Just as the title says, it is a real stew. An other-worldly concoction of electronic and acoustic sounds simmering and bubbling over. Reminds me a lot of Cluster in that there is sort of a playful quality to it. Not at all cheesy, but definitely not electronic music that takes itself too seriously, if you know what I mean. And I mean that in a very good way.
Pritchard was involved in a great number of things other than recording - including Radio and Visual Arts. Here is a link to some further info on him.

I found this in a stack of records my neighbour found. It’s in perfect condition. Great album!
