Leo Nestor: Sons of the Morning

Impressive Christian folky stuff with some trippy electronics on a couple of tracks. A lot of its gets a bit same sounding, but it'll definitely appeal to fans of mellow stuff like the Guitar Ensemble, etc. The tracks with electronics really make you wonder how killer this could have been had they gotten a bit more experimental with the rest of it. Not too much findable info out there on it. Seems to have been associated with a church in the bay area.

I have been trying to locate a decent copy of this album for years. I would love to get a copy of your album on MP3 if possible. Alternatively, do you know where another copy could be found?

I think you’ll find him in Washington D.C. If it’s the same guy (and I don’t think there are a lot of Leo Nestors out there) he’s Director of Choral Activities at Catholic University of America. He’s quite a well-known composer now. I’m guessing this recording was done during his college years, but I could be wrong.

I have tried to get a hold of Leo Nestor several times, but either he has been too busy to respond, or the emails get filtered out. If anyone is able to contact him, let me know what he has to say on getting a copy of this.

Nestor is pretty high-church these days! He probably doesn’t want to be associated with that album. If anyone would have it, it would be World Library Publications. It’s been out of print for years, but here’s the site: http://www.wlpmusic.com (contact Mary Prete).

Thanks for the info, although Mary wasn’t able to help. I suspect that you are correct in that he probably wants to forget about this album, but I like it. No accounting for taste. If you have any other ideas, let me know.
