Omar Khorshid: With Love Vols. 1 and 2
Posted on July 15, 2006 by hcrink

When I found this lp in a thrift a few years back amongst a massive collection of belly dancing records, I had absolutely no idea who Omar Khorshid was. In fact, I think I might have left a few of his other records behind that day - a thought which has troubled me greatly ever since. Anyhow, I just though - "foreign guy with 12 string vox and cool jogging suite for 50 cent? OK!" Needles to say this was a good choice, and I've been a huge fan of his records ever since. This is a bit later than his "Rhythms from the Orient" lp, and I like it slightly less than that one, but it's still very, very good.
There is also a Vol. 2 which I thought I'd post here being that it's pretty much the same…

Check out the cool almost surf guitar sound on the track "Sidi"

This is actually cooler than I thought it would be. I dig the guitar sound, but I think I love the bass line walking/rumbling underneath it better! Thanks!
