Evelyn Lohoefer DeBoeck: Music For Movement Expression

movement expression

I was totally unprepared for an avant-jazz freakout on an Educatinal Activities Inc. record - but that is exactly what a couple tracks on here are. Prepared piano with bass and percussion that reminds me of something you might hear on an ESP-Disk lp. I was amazed to say the least. The rest is quite good too - very modernistic piano trio stuff. In fact the only thing I dislike about this lp is that it has those annoying locked grooves that cause you to have to cue up each track manually.

Thanks, I like it. The track is a bit aimless in the beginning but as soon as they hook on to a mutual rhythm it get’s pretty exciting.
