I grew up in the late 50’s/early 60’s near Coney Island and used to go there quite frequently. By the late 60’s it was hard to distinquish the Freaks from the visitors and I’ll never forget the great “Someone put LSD in the mustard at Nathan’s” scare of 1968. Great stuff.

I always see some wild shit every time I go Coney, like the last time when a developmentaly delayed individual tried to pick a fight with me, or the time before that when a black belt jones type dude and a Dominican trannie held hands on the boardwalk eating strawberry ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. Too bad they are closing down the theme park and turning it into a McDisney.

Anybody ever find anything good in the Byzantine flea market across Surf. Ave? I found a few things in the early ’90s, but nothing major. The Bronx and Queens were always better for me.

That flea is weird. Once got a cool ovoid wicker coffee table w/ round glass. So no is the answer.

I drove a car-float in the Mermaid Parade. Twice, including when a monsoon hit.
