Banana Brothers - And Their Bunch
Posted on April 19, 2007 by Kris Holmes

I have no information about this record whatsoever. The cover is just a generic blank white cardboard sleeve with the sticker of a bunch of bananas slapped on the front centre. The label is just as unhelpful, I can say it was released on TAB records as TAB7801, but that is it. It is basically a polka LP but with a couple of surprising jazz/rock/funk/country covers thrown in. The best of the "bunch" is the funky version of 'Mercy Mercy Mercy', but there is also a countryfied vocal version of 'Just Because', a version of 'Yakety Sax' with a wah wah guitar rhythm and a storming version of 'Johnny B Good'. The 'Mercy Mercy Mercy' & 'Johnny B Good' tracks are the only real things on the album you would want to listen to though. If anyone has any info on this record please post it up.
