Selah: Consider These Words
Posted on August 18, 2007 by hcrink

Based on the cover I got up fairly high hopes for this one pretty much immediately as I flipped to it. Unfortunately these mid-west Christian hippies only really get it together on a couple tracks here… but those tracks are good if not a bit out of step with the rest of the album. For the most part this is fairly ho-hum lightweight pop-psych that can't really decide whether in wants to be folky or dreamy so never actually arrives at either. But just when you're dozing off here they come to praise his name with the crude guitar heavy jams and suddenly they've got everything going for them. Another case of why couldn't the rest sound like this?
They even get jus a 'lil fonky on the other good track.
