If the dark, smoky Bronx Casino in N.Y. were a cauldron, then Johnny "El Bravo" Lopez and his Super Combo would be the witch doctors who could bring its contents to a boil at will with fiery guarachas like "Yo Soy De Los Bravos," "El Melon," "Me Cole," and "Langosta Langostin." Just a short listen to these club hits reveals how they could inspire such a surge of raw energy on the dance floor: they—not unlike the prospect of death—excite something primal in the body and mind and remind one how it feels to truly be alive.
