Loving Cup

Lounge double lp by these hairy people from Michigan. Like most records of this sort there is a fair amount of totally worthless schmaltz, but unlike most, there's also a few absolutely jaw-dropping tracks. For instance the version of "Feel Like Making Love" is just amazingly sleazy… complete with seductive moaning. I mean just imagine being in this small lounge/club/whatever getting tipsy on exotic drinks with little paper umbrellas with a bunch sweaty polyester-clad old men and seeing this. It almost gives me the willies just thinking about it. Anyhow, there is also a cool Bob James style jazz funk instrumental that gets pretty spacey. Good version of "Killing Me Softly" too.

I don’t think the lp actually says. My best guess would be mid-70’s.

The ‘Bob James style instrumental’ is actually Lesley Duncan’s ‘Love Song.’ But y’all knew that already I’m sure…….
