Sweet Marie: 1

One of those bands that just really, really, really, really, really wanted to sound like Hendrix. Not that that's a bad thing though, as there are more than a few highly enjoyable tracks on here. Take the grinding, fuzzy "Sweet Pea" for example. On the whole it's somewhat over-exaggerated and hard to take completely seriously - especially when they attempt to ease out of party mode and tackle slower, moodier material - but a fun listen nonetheless. They've got a second album too with truly horrific carnival style portrait art on the front.

Dude the art on the second Sweet Marie Rulez!
They should be surfing or rollerskating in the portrait to
make it truly authentic carnie stilo.
