I’ve been unable to piece much together about this musician or the original performance of this cassette recording. It seems that Becket G. Senchur is (was) a member of The Order of Saint Benedict and this is a recording from one of his concerts at the Basilica of Saint Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

The majority of this cassette includes standard Christian symphonic pieces. While on a few tracks, Senchur manages to produce an original moody soundscape that succeeds on a truly epic level. I can only imagine the live experience of hearing this in a setting such as the Basilica of Saint Vincent.

I enjoyed this a lot. Reminds me of similar sounds on Bernard Szajner’s Zed - Visions of Dune. Must have discovered the same buttons on their machines.
