As a second generation Orange Countian who squandered his youth on drugs I can't help but identify with these youngsters in some strange way. Who knows, it could have totally been Rick from Anaheim* who rode shotgun that one time my Dad, hopped up on Angel Dust, hot-wired a car and cruised to the Long Beach Sports Arena to see Grand Funk… only to have to awkwardly explain in a future run-in that he was now "hanging with the Lord". It's certainly not entirely out of the realm of possibility.

*not his actual name

It’s too bad Wally George couldn’t have got through to you in the 80s down there behind the Orange Curtain. He might have been able keep you off the pot.
