Bill & Jean Bradway: Gospel Hawaiianaires
I guess it’s pretty fair to say that as of 2010 I’ve become a bit jaded when it comes to records. The sense of anything being possible I used to feel when walking into a strange Goodwill has all but left me. There was certainly a time when flipping to a dude in a bow tie with a custom made triple-neck steel guitar would have been all I needed to become sufficiently aroused. I struggle to hold onto that. It’s certainly not Bill or Jean’s fault, but I’ve been hurt. I’ve learned the hard way that the good lord taketh away far more often than he giveth when it comes to the records made by his flock. With this in mind, I’m please to report that the exotic bent given to the white bread spirituals on this lp are going a long way toward soothing my burn. Drifting Polynesian soundscapes mixed with a good dose guitar hotrodsmanship abound within. Like sipping a pineapple garnished cocktail on the beach in the hereafter.

This guy was Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick before Rick Nielsen, with his triple neck slide. The Gospel Hawaiianaires, how tender. I’d like to see a modern version of this, but with songs devoted to Satan and welts.
FACEMELT

how painfully true, cream of the cr… chud.
Gorgeous.
very nice. Bill and Jean will make it all better. hell, add a life partner and a set of keys in the party bowl by the door and they’ll each take care of you!
EWWW!!!
Kinda like the Velvet Underground of Steel Guitar, another winner from crink!
These musicians are my parents and I am highly offended by some of your comments!!! The first one is not even true about Rick Nelson and how dare anyone say their Gospel music should be for satan.!! You will be dealt with!!!
