Twilight: Still Loving You

‘Nuther stock covered local lp I picked up recently – which turned out to be quite a bit rarer and better than I’d hoped for. I’m normally not big on late 70’s/early 80’s sounding soul, but the songs here are extremely well written and have an almost singer/songwriter quality to them – or, as it was suggested by someone who heard it “a blend of yacht rock and modern soul”. The production is also quite striking for a self-made record. Lots of nice horn arrangements, crisp acoustic guitars, and smooth vocal harmonies. Hopefully the couple guys who knew this record when I asked about it can chime in with a bit of background on it.

Twilight here! Mainly a saxophone player who wanted to be a part of a horn band. Tower of Power or Cool Blood. Loved to play guitar and songwrite. Did the project as a demo and never planned to sing lead on any of the tunes. Just wanted to give the lead a reference to go by. Everything was done in one take in the order of the Lp. One hour for tick track, one hour for bass, one hour for horn section (three trumpets)and so on. Would have done better if I ever thought the public would here it.

    ^^Wow

Just got hip to this record (latte pass). Great work and amazing considering it was all done by one person in one shot. Very inspiring to say the least.
