Don Bellezzo — Concert Hall Univ. of New Mexico 1972

So I suppose I purchased this sometime in some place but have no recollection of having done so. I found this in the files last year. Easy to miss as it’s merely a blank sleeve.

This is a quietly strange record that was pressed up after Don Bellezzo’s concert at University of mexico in 1972. Who is Don Bellezzo? He is definitively not a member of any tribute bands.

The record is comprised of nine original songs and performed live by Don Bellezzo. He accompanies himself on accoustic guitar. He sings in a slighty dissonant faux operatic voice. Before he sings, he seems slightly unsure of himslef but finds slight comfort behind a voice that should not be his. People cough and sneeze.

Hey Don, if this isn’t you then who cares? I don’t care about this record, you, or the other Don Bellezzo. Tell your attorney to stop wasting your money.

  • Andrew says:

Don – Is there a chance you were recorded and this is in fact a bootleg from the early 70s that you never saw before?

As can be seen from the picture, the poster isn’t making the record up. I find it hard to believe that there are multiple don/donald bellezzos out there in Beatles tribute bands. (although there are multiple people with even uncommon names on the Internet)

Don Bellezzo, I apologize for possibly attributing this record to you although I am still uncertain if you made this record or not. We are mostly amatuers here and the site is a work in progress. The review will be edited to ensure any readers that this Don Bellezzo is not the same you. However, this site is inteded to observe and preserve under the radar records, and as such i won’t personally remove the review/posting completely.

  • joe bellezzo says:

Don Bellezzo is pond scum, he won’t even pay court ordered child support for his handicapped son. He di go to U of NM, and did make the recording. He can’t even afford a lawyer.

  • As an up and coming adult film star I would like to take this oppurtunity clear my name of any ties or possible confusion realting me to Don Bellezzo on the above mentioned record.

  • Jim says:

hey man this is a music site. stick your harassement.get a life.

  • Ralph says:

I thought it was kind of funny.

    Hello,

I attended U of NM back in the early 70s and I can absolutely guarantee that this concert happened. I worked for the Concert Hall as a student and I worked this show I was never aware of any recording device though. I was a fan of Don’s performances down at this local coffee shop called “The Daily Grind”. I’ll bet dollars to donuts this is a bootleg as the gentleman mentioned above. He did have some local fans back then. Don was a pretty strange cat and used to hang out by himself in the pinball arcade and sing. Kind of creepy now that I think about it.

Wow Dave, thanks for the info. I’ve been scratching my head about this one and it has caused far more of a stir than I ever imagined. Its really funny to have a first hand account of this. Do you think one of his fans might have pressed up the record to distribute around town? Im curious though and mean nothing by this, but how did you come to find this site/review on this day? Some weird things have been happening. TO THE DON BELLEZZO WHO EITHER MADE THIS RECORD OR IS IN A BEATLES TRIBUTE BAND OR BOTH: Please clear up this confusion. And for the record, I really like this album — I would not have taken the time to post a review about it if i didnt find it had something interesting to offer. Please contact my lawyer Alan@alandershowitz.com if you wanna get tough.

    sun_fortune3,

I found this site because I typed “Don Bellezzo” into google. You know how you google old friends sometimes? I didn’t know Don but his music was kind of a friend to me. I don’t know who made this record but I would sure like a copy of it. Do you have a “buy it now” price?

  • sun_fortune3 says:

Hey Dave, I’m not sure I want to sell this record at this time, but I would be happy to make you a CDR of it. Gimme an email at drarthurkrems@hotmail.com, and we’ll set something up.

I lived in the dorms at UNM with Don in ’72. He was from California and a good guy. I can’t remember him being a musician, however…..

  • Rajesh says:
