KYC 64 – Know Your Car and Get The Best Out Of It
“This Noise Means Danger!” – a TV tie-in 7″ single from BBC records in 1964. Know Your Car had a signature tune by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, but sadly it’s not to be heard on this peculiar mix of deadpan narration and the sounds of ailing motorcars. The commentary is by John F. Miles, manager of the High Performance Course in London (whatever that may have been), who has the tone of voice that suggests this particular repair is going to cost you serious money. What noise means danger, you may ask? Well, it’s a ‘Big End’ knock on a four cylinder car, of course …

Narrator sounds uncannily like Peter Cook!
The signature tune was ‘Monte Carlo’ [subtitled KYC64], by The Tornados.
I have this recorder, and in great condition! Was just listening to it and decided to look up more about it. It’s boring as hell!
