Rhythm Section – Nice N Easy
Truth be told, I purchased this cassette a couple years ago on the promise of one measly songtitle “Pimpers Paradise” hoping for G-Funk or something. Now that I look at the other song-titles, it should have been pretty obvious to me that this was 80s (90s?!) Reggae or Soca, and quite likely deep doo doo. Such are the details so easily glossed over when you’re out digging for chud, grasping at something, anything, to bring home in order to justify another day of wasted time.
Not surprisingly, this tape is total doo doo, probably sold on the street to tourists visiting the Bahamas. But what about “Pimpers Paradise” you ask? Well, actually it is one of the best songs ever made. Also, it is most definitely Soca, and I cannot believe I am saying this. Maybe you’ve had the experience of owning a tape with one song on it that you really really like, and you have auto-reverse on your car cassette deck, and you literally listen to one song over and over again. That is Rhythm Section for me.
