Starfire / Starfire
I found an original copy of this rare prog rock item in a Los Angeles thrift shop. It was thrashed but I could tell it was rare so I said what the hey and bought it. Later I got $150 for it despite its G/VG condition.
You can tell a lot about a record collector, I guess, by what their reaction is when you bring up “Starfire.” Some people think of the funk group from New England (I think I read that that was where they’re from) and some people think of this slightly cheesy, operatic, ego vocals & guitar prog rock group from Downey, CA, who made this one album in 1974. Some people know both groups but most have never heard of either of them to which I say good, it is not really that important that you know this sort of thing because it basically defines trivia. Your life can be complete without having either Starfire LP in your collection. I have no idea why this record gets to star in my first post on Waxidermy.

Your life may be complete, but having at least one Starfire makes the difference between having a record collection and a cultural library. Personally, I have the one with funky guys in jumpsuits.
as do I, the jumpsuits that is

i can’t believe they also re-issued this on cd avalible at Amazon!!!
That reissue is just another Radioactive bootleg, no doubt vinyl-sourced with no attempt to get permission from the artists or pay royalties.
