The Exotic – Title Unknown
The Exotic is one of my favorite finds I ever made in Asia. Except one track it’s mainly a Thai pop album with some obscure and even psychedelic moments that unlike many other Thai albums you can listen to all the way through. The stand out track though is a raw funk track with Thai vocals. It has everything you might ask for including a nice drum break.
The first time saw this record was in a little record store in Chinatown during my first visit to Bangkok a couple of years ago. Back then I didn’t buy it because I didn’t have a portable with me and even though it looked as if it could be funky I was a little worried it could turn out to be a turd. Luckily the record was still on sale 2 years later when I visited the store again and this time I decided to give it a shoot. I’m pretty lucky I did.

You may know this song better as the root sample looped and made into Young MC’s Bust A Move from 1989.
Please, please, please post or email Super Highway from this LP for me. This song rocks and was also from the 1970 Ballin’Jack LP.

u really consider this “raw funk”? meh, just slightly better than average 60s pop. and the break isnt anything special either.
