The Krug Bros – The Memories Remain

Private press soft rock LP out of Wisconsin from 1981. Side A is all originals while Side B sees the brothers covering a bunch of songs from the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young & the Beatles among others. Loren & Leon Krug look like twins, but I’m not sure about that. The cover of “All Along The Watchtower” is probably the most rocking track on here, the others are either a little or a lot softer. I think it’s all reasonably boned out in any case.

this album was given to me by Loren himself…it is perfect for a mellow day of vinyl listening and yes they are twins.

Loren and Leon played for our college house parties in ’77 and ’78, friends of my college roommate Carrie and then boyfriend Brian. The parties were the best and the musicians set it apart from all others!!! My favorite of theirs at the time was A Horse With No Name by America. I don’t have a copy of the album but I knew they had cut one. Great memories. And yes Loren, I did have a healthy crush on you the summer of Carrie’s wedding. Thanks for the fun time at the outdoor music festival and of course at the wedding!
