The New World Money System by Willard Cantelon

Being an avid conspiracy theorist, my mouth started drooling when I came across this piece at a long forgotten (translation: I don’t remember where I got this) LA spot. Behold A Pale Horse? The Illuminati? The Da Vinci Code? Eff all those – this guy will scare the crap out of you. The record starts off listing all his credentials and appearances before government officials, scientists and businessmen, then launches into a hour long diatribe about how we are basically the devil’s pawns as we speak. Citing biblical passages and philisophical stances about how Satan will re-order the world after Armageddon by giving everyone a number (Social Security anyone?) and that will be the basis of a new system of trade using a form of credit (uh, Visa, Mastercard and AMEX?), Willard makes a surprisingly strong argument. I can’t get with the whole bible thumping part of it, but seeing how the world has been downward spiraling as of late, you can’t help but stop and ponder his predictions for a moment. Throw in the fact that this record was probably (no release date, but Willard makes reference to first stating his ideas 30 years ago) before all the above mentioned conspiracy books, it makes you think dude was a bit prophetic.

I believe there is a fairly ominous cover that goes with this record. I think it was a view out a typical business office window, suggesting perhaps there was a massive stock market crash and someone has just jumped…? Whatever it was it was creepy in an unusually subtle way.

Just picked this one up at Salvation Army- different label (“New Systems”) and a cover with what looks like a copper-colored plate (like your Grandma would hang on the wall of her trailer) with an old photo of the U. N. building on it, sitting on a collection of banknotes from around the world. Very cheesy- I can hardly wait to play it.

  • Sir nobody says:

I just got this album, also @ the salvation army store in my town for 50 cents.

  • Dean says:

My mother was into this crap back when I was twelve or thirteen — I used to have to listen to her rave about the Pharisees; Saducees; wheat; tares – you get the picture. She ordered this record from one or another of her religious magazines back in 1967, which is when I believe it was released.

The original cover was the ‘window’ cover.

Mom was big into conspiracy – the whole world, if I was to believe her, was out to get ‘us’. (Who ‘we’ and ‘they’ were, at the time, was and still is a bit of a mystery).

If you look up this Cantelon fellow, you’ll find that his son is a bit more genteel, but still spreading The Word with his sidekick, Rickie Lee Jones (of “Chuck E.’s In Love” fame).

As to the Old Man himself? He did go on about his contacts – but there’s nothing to independently verify that he was anything more than an itinerant preacher and one of the more-recent crop of religious loonies.

I’m sorry Dean has such bitter feelings about his mother and ‘religious loonies.’ I just stumbled onto this site because I’ve been doing a search for anything on “Willard Cantelon.” I remember Willard Cantelon clearly from the 1970’s talking about a world economic collapse that would usher in the end times. He was no looney! He was brilliant, no doubt a genius. He was also very talented. While speaking, he would often paint a huge beautiful painting; then give it away at the end of the evening. He was also an amazing pianist (along w/other instruments). A very colourful speaker who held his ‘standing room only’ audiences in amazement. I would love to see a biography written about his prophetic lifestyle. We could use someone of his stature today.

  • Basil Subgenius says:

I just got this record at an estate sale. So I googled the title and found this site. Thanks for the review! Too bad the guy is some lame bible beater. Maybe I’ll mix this with porno sounds and footage of Obama sucking off his banker buds.

  • Jim says:

Well it’s coming even though most people don’t believe we will be under a one world money system. Then they can control the whole globe.

  • Jerry Lesac says:

I have Willard’s book The Day The Dollar Dies and it is one of my favorites. His insight and behind the scenes knowledge is/was quite telling and to read it again with whats going on today is really quite eye-opening. I actually quoted him quite extensively in my book http://www.cropcirclesandclimatechange.com

Willard Cantelon was one of my Dad’s best friends. I remember as a kid having him in our home, and even as a child I was always drawn to his kindness, learning from him was a privilege. The credentials mentioned in prior comments by others, I can attest are all true. He spoke before Senate sub-committees and was highly regarded by Heads of State. He was a gifted, a genius and a spiritual giant. I am so sorry that he is not alive today to sit and discuss everything we see happening through the prism of his great knowledge and life experience. It is one of the great privilges of my life to have known Willard and his wonderful wife, Verna, Paul and Lee, his sons. God rest his soul and bless you Verna, we love you still. I have Mr. Cantelon’s book published in 1976 titled “Money Master of the World”. If any of you (Dean) can get you head out of your butts long enough to find it and read it you will find that what he discussed in his book is coming to pass today (2009). Go ahead and dismiss him and those like him as “an itinerant preacher and one of the more-recent crop of religious loonies” because EVERYTHING happening in this world throughout history has, is and will be rooted in Christianity! Just wait and see. Then, who will the “itinerant” and “loony” be then?

  • Jerry Brown says:

I was priviledged to hear Willar Cantalon speak at a convention in San Antonio, TX in the 1970’s. His knowlege of the Bible and delivery will never be forgotten. He would quote Scriptures and you could not tell when he began speaking and not quoting the Bible. I was impressed with his presentation and prophetic views of the world money system. Some of these are coming to pass today. (ie. Sprecial drawing rights) think of your debit card!

  • beth says:

so dudes, what’s coming true that Cantelon wrote?

  • MC PhD-Block says:

I’ve listened to this record once. It’s very logically thought out and clearly stated: The world will have to go off the gold standard simply because there’s not enough gold to function as money for our increased population. He believed (in the 60s) that people would have personal, electronically connected devices that allowed them to receive or pay the electronic equivalent of money. I’d say he was right.
He held that the key to understanding prophecy was right within the prophetic texts themselves. He warned against literal interpretation, and pointed out that the meaning of a metaphor was often explicitly stated elsewhere in the same book: the sands of the sea is used as an image in one passage, in another passage it is clearly stated that the sands of the sea represent the people of the earth. Et cetera.
His view of the end times was optimistic, though. He believed we were heading for peace after the suffering.

  • TomE2L8 says:

The Bible is a type of; blueprint, houseplan, drawing–when building a house it’s generally required that plans are drawn up PRIOR to construction of the house, Cantelon knew how to read a drawing–A VERY complex drawing. We poke fun of, dismiss those things we don’t understand and there ARE a great MANY things we don’t understand. Mr. Cantelon was the farthest thing from a “Bible Thumper”–(one who is self-righteous, bitter, angry, controller–in reality the COMPLETE oppsite of what the Bible teaches)–those things he studied and what he was so passionate about–was to help us understand what WILL BE coming/happening in the near future, MANY, MANY of those things he taught about in the 60’s, 70’s are coming to pass reguarding “money”. So before you totally blow him off as a “bible thumper” nutjob, try and read his stuff and understand where he is/was coming from—you’ll find a very loving and compassionate man who cares about peoples Spiritual well being.

I first heard Rev. Willard Cantelon as a camp s peaker on Vancouver Island, north of Nanaimo, BC.
years later in Montreal, he was the featured speaker at Evangel Pentecostal Church. His message was powerful and full on scriptures which he
from memory. Whole passages from the Biblical book of Revelation and other prophetic texts. That was 1958 and it is to this day one of the most powerful messages I have ever listened to.

  • Jinkies says:

I just picked this record up at a thrift store, googled it and wound up here. I’m a bit of an armchair-expert on conspiracy theory, and Willard Cantelon is one of the progenitors of modern conspiracy nuttery. The fact that a few of the comments here support Cantelon is an indication of his continuing importance in the field. Much like the UFO mileu, most of the material was generated in the 50s and 60s and has been routinely regurgitated ever since. One only has to turn on Coast to Coast AM radio show any day of the week to hear four hours of the same paranoia rehashed continuously for the past 40 years. Illuminati and UFO conspiracy stuff is like the TV show “I Love Lucy”, it never dies, it’s in perpetual reruns, and thanks to the cyclical nature of society, at any given time much of it will seem as fresh as ever to those exposed to it for the first time.

You know, it makes me wonder if things like the S&L crisis in the 80s and the Madoff-era of today might have been predictable if only the people who are paranoid over high-finance weren’t always preoccupied with Illuminati-inspired nuttery. I mean, if the people who champion Cantelon’s work here in these comments acted like Wall Street Watchdogs rather than Insane Illuminati-obsessed Imbeciles, maybe they could’ve told us something reality-based about the economy that could have helped blow the whistle before the bubble expanded so much that bursting it destroyed the economy of the entire world…

  • BGDRAKE says:

WE’RE PROBABLY THERE NOW, AND THIS GODLY MAN, WILLARD CANTELON, MAY BE LOOKING DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND SEEING THE FINAL EVENTS AS HE FORETOLD HAPPENING!

  • MBG says:

I heard Rev Cantelon speak many times as a child. My mother and aunt knew him very well. They both still have one of the paintings spoke of in one of the earlier comments. I have the album that my parents bought at one of the services and I will be putting it in digits soon.

Now to the haters…..really, are you so bombastic about your hatred of Christianity that you can’t even see the noted truth?!! So many things in this album and his books have come true….and he was talking about them long before we had even heard of a computer, an ATM or a smartphone!! Loony? The man was brilliant!! If he could keep a 7-14 year old interested for a whole church service with no problem, you know he was quite the speaker!

I live near the nutty UFO crash site people…..I immediately change the station on the radio when I here the likes of George Noory and that mess!! For you to even remotely imply that he was in that group just shows your bias and ignorance!

There was plenty of warning about the S&L crisis, etc from people who were in the know, but the powers that were wanted “everyone to have a home”….even if they couldn’t possibly afford it!!!

So sad that some people take such a privilege like being raised by Godly parents and turn it into a negative. I am so blessed to have had such amazing parents that made sure I was in church…just like I do for mine.

I’m far from loony. I listen to some secular music, I go to movies, I work in the public sector and I watch a lot of sports and play video games online!! I am very normal and I love God with all of my heart and I believe every Word of the Bible (thump on!!!). I hope you who fit this category are very sure of yourselves….it won’t be good to be on the wrong side…

    God Bless Willard Cantelon……..

  • I remember reading his books in college. Although they had a flavor of a conspiracy what he said about going off the gold standard has held true. At the time, I was paying 30 cents a gallon for gas. Gas today is $3.50 per gallon (more or less…) A roll of 50 silver dimes on ebay right now goes for $100. That comes out to $2 per dime. That means in relation to the price of silver, gas would probably be CHEAPER today than in the mid 70s before the Arab oil embargo if we had stayed on the gold standard.

In his books (now, it’s been awhile since I’ve read them) he seems to give the impression all of this was going to come to pass quicker than it probably has. (I say probably since I haven’t read them in a while and cannot vouch for whatever he has said).

The most comforting aspect of his book Money Master of the World is near then end where he says that Jesus Christ is the Real Money Master of the World. In other words, all will unfold according to His time. Not ours.

I have just heard about this gentleman in my Economics class in college. I remember in the late 60’s my father telling my brother and I about things to come in the future. He was a studious man that believed that we needed to watch and learn. He paid attention to the events occurring to see how we were progressing toward the future. Many of his idea have come to pass. 40 years after his statements I have seen everything he had predicted develop. He was not a profit, but a man who strongly believed in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as well as watching for the signs. It seems that this man Willard Cantelon was a kindred spirit. I am now encouraged to find his writings and activities to evaluate his accuracy. From what I have viewed so far, he may have had been very accurate. It is shameful though that many people still keep their heads in the sand hoping for other to fix the problem. That was never the American way. Our nation was built on doers. People that stood up, made the statement, and then took action. Our failure to listen and learn is now evident. I look forward to learning more about what this man had to say about our present. Thank you.

  • Wally Wood says:

Early in my own ministry having to do with the fast-approaching Antichrist Administration, I happened upon Willard Cantelon’s book, THE NEW WORLD MONEY SYSTEM, published by the Gospel Tract Society, most likely around 1968. It was one of Willard’s earliest works. I was in secular radio at the time, working also for a secular newspaper. This was during the Nixon/McGovern presidential campaign in the early ’70s.

The discovery of Willard’s works were very timely in my life in those early years. I was in my early 20s at the time, and his books were confirmations of the things I was researching and reporting on in both print and broadcast media. His outlines, testimonials and experiences served as backdrops and blueprints of my interviews for books that I would write and radio programs that I would produce. My first book, CASHLESS SOCIETY: A WORLD WITHOUT MONEY, came as a result of Cantelon’s revelations. I spoke of a global central computer system that would oversee all of our financial transactions at every level of society (electronic deposits, soda machines and gas pumps). I called this system CENCOM, for central computer. The Internet went public nearly 10 years later. I didn’t know about the Internet in those days (1972). All I had was Cantelon’s writings … and my Bible!

The naysayers posted here are sad souls, to the say the least. Community forums like this won’t convince anyone to please reconsider their positions against the “rantings” of the likes of Willard Cantelon, David Wilkerson, and a handful of other lone voices. Where we are today has long been predicted by the likes of these, only to be derided by self-styled know-it-alls.

Sir Isaac Newton: “About the times of the End, a body of men will be raised up who will turn their attention to the prophecies, and insist upon their literal interpretation, in the midst of much clamor and opposition.”

Willard Cantelon and his contemporaries, are found in that group. We, of this generation, are living out the fulfillment of their insight, vision and alerts.

Henri Spaak, NATO secretary general 1957-1961: “We do not want another committee. We have too many already. What we want is a man, of sufficient stature, to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man, and whether he be god or devil, we shall receive him.”

  • William Riekert says:

Heard Mr. Cantellon many times, watched him paint lots of oils on canvas. One of the most brilliant men I ever had the privilege of knowing.
Have two of his paintings from the 1950’s they are for sale.

  • SPIKE says:

Because of all your comments, I’m getting a copy of this vinyl recording and generating a transcript for everyone’s benefit and for my 35+ year research.

Your concern is correct Jinkies … but there have been many determined attempts to avert the financial mess we are in, by many highly qualified economists who happen to be strong Christians.

As Wally Wood mentioned, Willard Cantelon was one of the lone voices addressing the coming economic issues as early as 1938. But his topic wasn’t just theory … it was based on in-depth research, personal contact and interviews with leaders from all over the world.

  • Terry Blackwood says:

I was saved under the ministry of Willard Cantelon and I can assure you this. Everything he preached, he believed and he was brilliant. I heard him quote entire chapters of the bible by memory. I have never met a more sincere man in my life, except for my father. He would come to First Assembly/Memphis almost every year and paint lovely oil paintings to be given away to the one who brought the most visitors. Let me just say, you would be wise to read his books and listen to his words. Yes, he was a little early in his predictions, but God knows the time of the end and it will happen very soon. Prophesies are being fulfilled even now. Four blood moons in the next two years and all four occurring on Jewish feast days. This hasn’t happened in over 600 years. In 1492 there was a blood moon. The significance of that day for America is clear. What many don’t know is that same year, Spain kicked the Jews out of their country. There was a blood moon when Israel became a nation. Another one during the six day war. Something ominous regarding Israel will occur on these upcoming blood moons.
