Victorie Scott: Hey Mamma/Brille, Comme Ellebrille
One of the benefits of accumulating records is finding a great record in one’s own collection without having any idea how it got there. This is an example. I have had this record for at least 15 years and never got around to listening to it until this week. I will buy any record from a foreign country if it’s cheap, and this has the added bonus of having the little tab French singles used to come with intact. Anyway, this is a great two-sider. ‘Hey Mama’ is a pop/psych epic with a bit of fuzz guitar and ‘Brille Comme Elle Brille’ is a mod/soul dancer with a cowbell.

Hey Mamma sounds like she is using SWEET at her backing band! Great shit!
Great tracks – any chance on getting a link? Especially ‘Hey Mamma’ – that song is terrific.
Dope!

Thanks!
Never mind the Sweet, try the Tremeloes ‘Me & My Life’….it’s a straight rip (are the songwriters credited?)
It is definitely a cover of the Tremeloes’ song. Blakley, Hawkes, and a J. Blanchard are credited for ‘Hey Mama’, and J Blanchard and K.Young wrote the B.
dope track! nice vocals even though i don’t speak a lick of french but know good music when i hear it. love the fuzz & nice opening drums break too! i want this so can play it out, plus i could use those drums!
