Virgin Release: Turn It Down/Hey Now!

OK, so, for whatever reason, lately I’ve felt guilty that I rarely contribute any content to my own website anymore. It happenes sometimes and I’m sure it’ll pass but in the meantime you’ll have to forgive my desperate, half-assed stabs at writing about records I no longer own in genres I know zero about. For example I present this homemade 1983 power pop 7″ I found copies of last year. The A side thrusts you directly into these teens’ world where facing persecution for rocking is a harsh reality. It’s simple and honest and if you can’t relate then I’m forced to assume you were one of those joyless souls who wore Dockers to high school and turned your parents in for smoking weed. Flip is good too with decent retro Flamin’ Groovies-esque moves. Sometimes buying records just because the cover is badly printed on construction paper pays off after all.
