Brothers Reborn – Brothers Reborn

This appears to be a fairly obscure release from the Kent label. Two brothers, Raphael and Ramon Velez front a loungey/soul band in this set of mostly original tunes with a few covers thrown in. The band is really tight throughout with great bass and drum work and the horn section is blazing. Recorded at Custom Recording Studio sometime in the late sixties, the sound is really clean throughout, probably too clean as I’m left waiting for the brothers to rip it up and really let go vocally but they don’t. This LP seems to hardly ever turn up and must not have sold in huge quantities upon release, leaving it as something of a lounge/latin/soul curio.
