Czeslaw Niemen – Muzyka do sztuki Juliusza Slowackiego

Polish mostly synthesized music from I don’t know when. On the Polskie Nagrania Muza label (who had rad sleeves). The A-side is comprised of 5 or 6 short synth experiments. The b-side is similar but halfway through some singing comes in. I wish it didn’t.

Here’s one of the bit’s off the a-side:

Also, does the title make sense? I don’t know if the artist is the title or vice versa, I came to my conclusion based on basic typographic hierarchy. But I could be wrong, polish speakers let me know the deal. I can provide a bigger picture of the label if needed.

Yes, you have the title/artist right. This is called “Muzyka do sztuki Juliusza SÅ‚owackiego ‘Sen Srebrny Salomei'” by CzesÅ‚aw Niemen, which translates to “Music for Juliusz SÅ‚owacki’s play ‘Salome’s Silver Dream'”

ah, cool thanks! I was confused cause I thought it could have been “Music OF Juliusz Slowacki”

“Salome’s Silver Dream” is a fitting title.

Sounds interesting. Niemen remains a pretty cool artist.

The record is selections from the album Katharsis, released in 1976. Three tracks from the album were musical illustrations of Juliusz SÅ‚owacki.

It would be nice if you could post the whole 45… either that or I could march my ass down to a used record shop here in Warsaw and buy it. I had no idea that Nieman experimented with Moogs and prog-rock, so this is on my list.

    Hello,
As far as I know,CzesÅ‚aw Niemen plays Hammond Organ in his “Folk Rock, Fusion, Prog Rock” albums.
But it seems that he has used “Synthesizer [ems, Mellotron 400, Moog]” in the album “Katharsis”.

It might be the reason this albums seems Electronic to our ears.

By the way,if there is anybody here from POLAND or has knowledge about Polish Composers, let me know
the name of Electronic Composers in Poland please.
The name of the albums are also Ok.

    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Zalman.
