"She has club feet & thick calves". For some reason that struck me as one of the funnier things Veronica wrote to me during what has been, as of this writing, several weeks of back and forth in preparation for this ongoing review column. Everything had been going so smoothly until the time came to select a decorative image to add to the very page you're now reading. Isn't that always the way though?
What does that have to do with anything you might ask? Fair enough; Veronica knows her music, and is not afraid to call a club foot a club foot. I like this about her. It's also my not so humble opinion that in this day and age of the most completely mediocre and micro-pressed second or third tier records being hailed as the next big…. well, micro-pressed second or third tier records, that it is exactly what we need in music criticism, damn it.
My prediction is as the feature progresses there'll be a little bit of everything. This is exciting to me as I'm eager to see the website shake off its' perceived bias toward music that is weird for weirdness's sake and branch out beyond the strange politics of rare records. It is in that spirit I present to you Veronica's selections. I sincerely hope you will all enjoy this column as much as I have enjoyed assisting in it's creation. Here's to new things, and here's Veronica…
