Ready for a hard days night and hitting a fave spot, the band's already in action on arrival ripping through a high energy romp. Checks his coat & gets to digging "Off Centre" - he knows the numbers - w/it's piano/alto sax flying solos. Slowing down with their wistful flute showcase "Go Away, Come Back Another Day" he makes his way to the bar, leans back taking in the surroundings all the while noting how well those bluesy moments flow in unexpectedly. As the seductive "Dafina Querida"'s plucked bass, growly flute, exotic percussion and mysterious piano sounds fill the room he eyes a bird and makes note but then gets caught up as always in the frenzied "Omah Cheyenne" awaiting the everchanging free moves and effortless return to form. Conversation can be had while the relaxed piano/flute moodiness of "Wenceslas Square" restores order; he slides in next to her being acknowledged with a smile. Little need be said, the jaunty "Splat" highlighting the piano in simpatico with his suave manner. They take to the floor as the wind up jazzblues grooves of "Troublemaker" get laid down with the bands chemistry as balanced as his formula. Set's over, he and bird disappear into the night.
