Guitar Ensemble – you-n-you

The cover caught my eye on this one so I gave it a spin. Surprisingly cool xian album from 1971 done by an 11 piece band. Seven guitarists, a lone female organ player and the rhthym section holding it down.

This record is very, very, very unremarkable musically. The art is pretty cool but I was underwhelmed by the tunes…

    Duh!
This is a meisterwork of desert post-nuke Nevada xian bluesgrass minimalist psych musick.
Only people into Toto and Steve Vai won’t get it. On the other hand people who listen to Steve Vai have no reason to listen to music at all-they should just go about their unremarkable lives and never open their jappers!

This record seems to be pretty common. I’ve had a copy, it appears in finds threads regularly and it can be found on ebay most of the time. Not being a dick just making an observation.

Not that Jeremy or anyone else here has said that it’s rare.

  • Exactly. The whole point is that you can score a very obscure-looking local release with some dynamite tunes for $15-20.

    Hey Patrick the Lama,

I guess that’s why I made the comment because it seems to me that it should be in the $20 range. It often goes for way more and I just wanted to point out to those on this site that if they like it they shouldn’t go over board and pay too much because it will turn up eventually. I’m not hating on the sellers that can sell it for big bucks, more power to them if they can do it.

Maybe I’m trippin’. One sold on ebay a couple of weeks ago for $10. Carry on.

  • I saw 1 copy sell really high recently, but with patience it can be had for below $20. Some day all those sealed copies are going to be gone however. Musicwise I think it’s easily worth paying $35-40 for.
