When I came to Jesus in 1970 I began listening to Marj Snyder on the local Christian station. I still listen to her today, several times a week. The message of the Jesus Movement – of God’s love, Jesus kindness, salvation and wanting to tell others are all found in her music. I wish someone could remaster her songs and reissue them.

When I was a baby Christian in 1973 your album’A Time of Peace really ministered to me as I was recovering from a serious mental breakdown and God restored my emotions. I still have that album. My wife likes it also. I really like the songs GOD and SOFT WHITE CLOUDS. Don’t YOU CARE helped me make a serious commitment to reach the lost. I got saved during the Jesus Movement in Lancaster, PA. and four years later the Lord moved me to Tucson,AZ. where He introduced me to my wife. I don’t have a computer and I don’t know if my email address is still valid. Thanks for giving me good ground to start my walk with Jesus. Love, Donny Rohrback 1067 W. Saw her perform at a Young Life weekend in the 1970′s up at Mt. Herman Christian Camp in the Santa Cruz mountains…she was amazing. We all bought her album and I played it all through college. Can’t believe I actually found a site where someone knew of her. Fantastic!! Where is she now?

I had Marj Snyder’s album “A Time of Peace” while in college at Santa Barbara in the 1970′s. At one time I had some non-christian roommates. They usually mocked anything that that pertained to faith, and were poised for the kill the first time I played this in our apartment in Isla Vista. But instead of ridicule and criticism, they were silent. When the first side ended, they could only say how beautiful it was. Often, when coming back from class, One or the other would be listening to the record on their own. It really got under their skin… Later, another non-believing friend heard it and mooched it from me. Its amazing how disarming this record was to those with hearts hardened to the Gospel. Thanks, Marjie. Where can I get another copy?

From 1981 to 1983 I had the pleasure of knowing Marj when we both lived in New York City. We were both members of the New York Arts Group(NYAG) a Christian Artists association.

I was lucky enough to have a car in NYC so I drove Marj to a number of engagements outside the city. She was a truly gifted professional musician and stong Christian. Times were not easy for her as there wasn’t much financial reward in Christian music in those days.

  6. Marj Snyder’s music introduced me to contemporary christian music when I was 19 years old. I lost track of her as an artist in the late seventies and always wondered what happened to her. Maybe she got hurt in the church like alot of us did. Recording artists can get tired of living their lives in a fish bowl and being held to impossibly high standards in their christian walk. Whatever the case, here’s to you Marj and the timless purity of your accoustic music from a time when we were young. It would be great to hear from you again musically.

It’s great to hear that some new remasters of Marj Snyder’s original recordings are available at the crossrythms website under the title, Revival Women. Those original recordings still minister to people 30 years later and I’m sure will go through the fire of God with flying colors. What I want to hear is any new material that Marj may have written or recorded in the intervening years. Hopefully, if her remasters do well this might be possible in a way that is right for her and her family today. God bless you, Marj Tyrone Flanagan at tyseyes@yahoo.com

When I was a young Christian some of the persecution really hurt, as I was leader of a rock band at the time. I knew my friends would put me down, but I came to Christ anyway. My new Christian friends, saved out of similar backgrounds, helped me get started and encouraged me to use my musical gifting for Jesus. I actually had a nervous breakdown, but God gave me the victory. “A TIME OF PEACE” helped me through this tough time, and I thank M.J. for her songs. Since then, God has given me many songs and I’ve seen what God can do through anointed music for over 35 years. drohrback8@msn.com

  9. I am a big fan of Marj Snyder’s music, I went to Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz in the early 70′s and saw her perform at Mt Hermon. I still listen to her albums. A steller voice and timeless music, wish she would re appear with some more music.
