Muriel Anderson – just begun

Here's an under the radar femme folk lp worth tracking down. This was released in 1977 on Rotary records. At the time of the recording, Muriel was only 16 years old. Which is hard to believe since the guitar playing on this is just top notch. About half of the record features sublime instrumental cuts, the other half have Muriel's gentle vocals. The track "one lifetime" is one of my favorite femme folk songs of all time, great great stuff.

I have this and recommend it to those into private press teenage female folk vocalists. The vocal cuts are real cool in a mature/immature mellow dramatic way. Her guitar playing is strong and she wrote most of the tracks herself. The album was the result of winning a local talent contest. I’m pretty sure she has released a number of CDs, though this release isn’t mentioned on her website (I’d assume she’s somewhat embarrassed by it). Cool record.

‘one lifetime’ is your favorite femme folk ? I’m curious to know of that song ! It is tantalizing not to be allowed to hear it. Could you rip & upload that song ? Happy time with music !
