OPERATION DROPOUT

Picked this one up for the great cover. It's a two record set put out by the Chicago Daily News and WLS Radio in conjunction with forums and broadcasts addressing the problem of school dropout in  1966. Three out of the four sides are dry and boring press conferences. The remaining side contains excerpts from students explaining their problems and reasoning which led them to drop out. It's an entertaining, and somewhat depressing listen. It may also hold the record for the most use of the word "youngsters" by the WLS Radio announcer and various school faculty/administration interviewed.

The “host” may be oddly tacky on this soundclip but what moves me in this type of educational/didactic material is the sincerity involved. Guy on the left of the additional pic looks like Robert Crumb btw.
