That’s my Uncle’s LP. Nice to see it cirulating, even after all these years.

Funny how people will take anything and poke fun at it. Oh, well…to each his own. We, his family and friends, are proud of his music…that’s all that counts.

In the 70’s I was in a gospel singing group (the girls back up portion) that was headed up by Richard Espino called “The Lord Led” I am curious what he is doing now. How do I get in contact with someone who knows?

  • George Espino says:

Richard is my cousin, I am proud of everything he does, because I know that he trys his best, Richard is someone I have always looked upto.

  • Donna says:

I knew Richard in the 70’s when he spent a summer in our town in Montana. He even once came to see me at my college in Washington. Would love to know how he is! Just happened upon this site and nearly fell over when I saw this familiar face!

  • Renay says:

If you like the music and the strapping young man on this album, then you should get a load of him now. He has gotten so much better with age. And I’m not just saying that because he is my uncle.

  • Kathie Magar says:

If someone is reading this post…PLEASE tell Richard, ‘MAGOO’ (Kathie Magar) is trying to get in touch with him.
We used to travel together in the ‘Golden Heirs Trio’ over 30 years ago. You can have him send me an email, or leave me his email address in a reply post. Also, looking for Bob Warriner who also traveled with Richard and I’m sure they are still good friends. They meant a lot to me, and we had a blast acting silly :) Richard has such a smooth voice. LET ME KNOW OK Thanks tons,
    Kathie

  • Judi says:

I had the same reaction as Donna!! I was one of the backup singers with Angelika and the other girls in the Lord Led. Can you believe that just today I found Richard! I talked with his wife and he supposed to call later today. I’ll refer him to this site but not sure how to have him contact those looking for him

  • Kathie Magar says:

    Hi Judi and Donna,

If you are talking to Richard let him know (as above) Magoo is trying to reach him and he can view this site. If he replies, I’ll send him my email address.
Ask him about Bob Warriner too :)
Thanks to whoever can get in touch with him for me. I would like to set up a reunion…if at all possible with past members of the ‘Golden Heirs Trio’ Richard and Bob were hilarious!

    Blessings
    Kathie

I also met Richard in 1976 when he and, I belive Bobby, stayed with our foster family in St.Helens, OR. Both great guys and terrific musicians. Often wondered what happened to them. Has Richard recorded anymore music, and is he still touring? Bob – are you the “Bobby” from Canada?

Ritch Espino. He was my professor and friend. A man of greatness who fell last Thursday and shook my world as tears poured from my eyes. He impacted all of his students tremendously and in countless ways. I wish we could have heard him sing, even if only once. To Ritch’s family I extend my deepest condolences. He will be missed on an extraordinary level.

Ritch was my anatomy & physiology teacher at clackamas community college. From what I knew of him, he was a great guy. He always made me laugh and he really cared about his students. I will miss him very much, but am thankful that I was able to meet him.
To his family: you are all in my prayers, may God with you as you go through this difficult time.

Ritch was the best teacher I have had at Clackamas. I will miss him dearly. If there is any way I can get a copy of his music, it would touch my heart. I pray he is safe and happy in the Lord’s loving arms. My heart and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time. What a tragic loss for so many people.

Man, I can’t believe it! I just saw him last week and he seemed fine- though he was going through some stuff. He was my A/P instructor in 2008 and we became great friends. He was a great mentor and buddy who had an impactful influence in my life. I really loved that man and CCC will never be the same for me, I always looked forward to our weekly visits. He was like a father to me and to say I will miss him would be an understatement!
God bless you my friend, my brother-I will see you again someday-HANS DETTER

  • Bobbie Nunez says:

you won’t find out why, it is being kept a closely guarded secret which makes people think of all things terrible. he was an awesome guy, gentle, funny, funny, funny, full of love…now he is gone, what a loss. why this is shrouded in secrecy, who knows…he wasn’t about the whispers behind backs. Dickie put himself out there..miss you dude, we’ll ride again one day!

  • TioFan says:

    Bobbie-
You’re correct. My Tio wasn’t about whispers behind backs. And he wasn’t about having every detail of his personal life out to the world either.

Details or not, fact still remains….he’s gone. Remember him and all that he meant to you. That is what is most important. Pass on to others what he gave to you.

  • Shawna says:

  • Jackie McKay says:

What a blessing Ritch ws to our family and community in the 1970s. He was so capable and his music still rings in our hearts. We all enjoyed his reaction to the ice and snow in Alberta..not that graceful on skates but like a maniac on the skidoo. In 1999 he returned to Alberta to spend time with my husband, Clint, who was terminally ill with cancer. He called Clint his mentor but it worked both ways..I hate to believe he is really gone..We love you ritchFamily keep looking UP/

I loved Rich. He gave so much to all of us in our youth. I am sodeeply sorry that it had to end this way. I wish we could have saved him.

  • Greg K says:

One of the greatest Anatomy and Physiology instructors and a good man! Rest in peace, my friend!

  • Jessica Espino says:

Spending the day with the boys remembering you today on your 59th Birthday. We miss you everyday and your sons talk about you everyday with loving memories…you would be so very proud of them.

  • dads son says:

love you dad you will be forever missed and always remebered

  • I loved Richard so much and loved his music. I hate the fact that people are writing things like, “I wish we could have saved you and sorry it had to end this way”. If you can’t say anything that just flat out gives glory to God and the fact that Richard is now singing with Jesus and Little Flowers Never Have To Worry is his big solo, then KEEP THE COMMENTS TO YOURSELF!

  • Tanya Felsheim says:

I wanted to say the very first day I ever went to church in my life was a day I met Rich Espino. He was so full of love and kind hearted. He is the reason I continued to attend church–I met him in 1976 in a Foursquare church in Redmond Oregon and will never ever forget his kind heart.

  • Launie Myers says:

I knew Ritch since we were in Jr. High School together – such a great guy – he was an inspiration to me – will be greatly missed and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so grateful that I had a wonderful visit with him last January when I visited Portland area.

We had the longest lunch ever and I learned more about him than I had in all the previous years.
He was a kind, gentle man with lots of accomplishments. He was a spiritual giant.
This world could be a tough place for someone so nice – I know he is in a really great place now – worshipping, praising God all day long. He is the lucky one!!

  • Vic Wilson says:

Dear Richard, last time I saw him was in the early 70’s in Powell River, BC. Your kindness and gentle heart left a lasting impression. I will see you again one day my friend. To have known you was a gift from God to me. Much love to your family

  • d says:

Met Rich in Penticton BC, when he was there for a number of months with Lord Led in the 70s working with Pastor Sid Waterman at the Baptist Church on Carmi Ave.
He introduced me to Christian rock music and i’ll never forget him, great guy…i can still picture him singing “Little Country Church”… never heard it better! RIP
