St. Francis De Sales Cathedral Choir and Ensemble: Those Who See Light

This record is mostly pretty ehhhh… In fact, in an effort to impose more rigid quality control standards on… uhhh…. myself, I guess… I’d scrapped a previously completed review of it. But, alas, I often get to pondering these especially marginal records when I’m up late drinking. Plus, there is one track where they get all fonky in the name of the lord that I like. Sort of an ambitious arrangement for some xian youth choir steeze, huh? Unfortunately there’s nothing else like that on here – the majority is just your average straight choral hallelujah fare.

okay… this isnt the best record ill give you that crinkle. however there are two nice tracks on here. both sung by the only good voice there, and the only black guy, Charles Pierson. what a voice on him! good groovin music and good sanging… out of Oakland as well. buy it if its $10 or under.

very true, very true… there’s one other slightly more gospel-afied track that is indeed good.
