Crossroads – Get Together

Crossroads

I really try to avoid using the word 'haunting' when describing music. Alas, there is nothing else I can use to describe this one-tracker campfire folk record recorded in Edmonton, Alberta by some high-school kids from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The song Poet, which features flute, guitar and piano has put me in a curious state of bewilderment in which I'm angered that there are no other songs on the album like it but amazed by its quality (I also love the random echo outro as there are no other effects present on the album). It is almost as if some renegade xian teenagers managed to slip this mysterious and amazing haunted folk song on what was supposed to be a nostalgic reminder of their camp-fire rhythms.
