Saint Anthony Choristers: Let the Sunshine In!

I will buy just about any record of kids singing/playing pop songs that I know and like – so, needless to say, I end up buying a lot records like this one. Most of the time they are just totally unremarkable. I won’t say horrible because truly horrible music is as hard to come by as truly great music. And while this is neither, but it is more interesting that usual. Great version of “Michelle” that evokes visions of crossing a burning desert by camel. There is also a crudely wonderful instrumental take on “Girl From Ipanema”.

They’re from somewhere around L.A. right? I have another of their records…it has some good moments.

Think so. I have another one as well – has a Stones song I think. they really are pretty cool records.

Anyone else grow up listening to the “mini pops” LP? this was my intro to “video killed the radio star”, a killer Abba medley and a strange track called “brown girl in the ring (sha-na-na-na-na)”. Later in life found myself disturbed by the rouged cheeks and wet look lipstick applied to the tots, bless their cotton socks.

I am on this album. I sang first bass. I have several copies of this record. I am looking for the other record we recorded called Celebration. I also have Sounds of the Sixties and Sacred and Secular in Stereo as well as the 10 inch Christmas at the Mission. Any help in finding Celebration would be appreciated. There was a copy for sale on ebay but the bidding just ended on April 10.
